The application must be filled out within 30 days of intended date of ceremony. You may call or email to set up the office appointment to provide your forms of identification, pay the fee and pick up your license. Your license will then be valid for 30 days and must be returned to this office within 10 days after the ceremony. Contact a title company or an attorney for those types of services. Recordings may be presented in person, by mail or "E-record." (E-record is done through an online vendor listed below) Paper documents received by mail or drop off will be recorded and returned as soon as possible and done in order of receipt. Marriage License/Certificate Certified Copy Requests Proof of name change for either party due to a MARRIAGE will require a raised seal, "certified copy" of your original marriage license/certificate. (This is NOT the keepsake copy from your church or officiant) Certified copies may be obtained from the County where you purchased your license. This may differ from the actual location of your marriage ceremony. Cooper County certified copies may be purchased for $9.00, payable by check, credit/debit card or cash.
